I think it is a habit thing. Sit at the same table and try and study at the same time each night.

I tkink the best way to study is to do it be fore you go to sleep because i heard that your brain remembers thing s better so thats what i do. But you should study whichever way you think is best or easiest.

Hi Im Megan and I go to St Ursula's secondary in Waterford. The best way I like to study is to come home and take a little break before you start.Have a snack and a drink so you wont be desturbing your work. Go to a quiet room and start do all the written homework first but start with the subjects you don't like. Then go back to each subject and cheak which ones you need to study in.Like before you get the worst subjects out of the way first. Now you have all your homework done. Get up a little earlier to go over what you studyed the privious night to refresh your memory.

I think the best way to study is to do your homework when you get home & then take a break for a little while. Then starting doing your homework again. Then when your finish study for a little while. Then you can watch T.V.If you study you might get the job right.

Hi My name is Kiana! I've just started an all irish secondary school in Monaghan! I hate studing, especially when u hav mor than 1 test on da same day. I normally do my written homework first then study on each subject for at least 10-15 mins. Start studying at least a week before the test and do a bit every day.

 re: The best study techniques

Well,I think the best way to study is when you get home from school, just go to your room or somewhere peaceful and start looking through th ethings that you may have for the test.

My opinion on studying is its much better to study in the morning as opposed to at night as your brain is much better at remembering things first thing in the morning than last thing at night. We learned in school that one hours studying at night is only worth half an hour in the morning because your brain is tired, therefore making it harder to study. I dislike studying but its better that failing a test. Thats the worst feeling ever.

I think that the best way to study would be when you come home from school.I am in sixth class and my teacher tells the class to take notes from the book when we're studying at home. You just take notes of the important things in the book in each subject.Study in a peaceful and quiet place so you won't be disturbed. Also, don't leave everything till last, for me,I would do one subject per night and move on to the next one the next night. The night before your test, just try to look at your notes and answer the questions in your book without looking at the notes or the book and see how many you can get right. It always works for me and possibly it might work for you!!!!!

Umm, studying is hard, but like it has to be done no matter how much you dont want to do it! Try doing the hardest subjects first and finish with the easiest. Yeah it sucks, but at least youll pass your exams, remember to take breaks in between x

Make up a schedule; Two subjects to study a day or something, including weekends. Now, all the following is subject to how hard you think you'll need to work to obtain your course in college.
If your school is so kind as to provide after-school study, as well as weekend study, DO IT. In my school, i do the whole three hours.
"Study is for study and homework is for home".
In this way, i can always get at least a solid 3 hours study done everyday. When you get home, relax for a while then do your homework.
Depending on the course you're going for, assign a number of hours study to do everyday, or you can assign yourself sections of each subject to revise, e.g. a few chapters everyday. Reading stuff and under-lining is absolute bullshit, It'll get you nowhere. Note-taking and answering exam questions are the best ways to revise. When note-taking, summarize your stuff, and leave out unnecessary words. Be sure to find or identify some outlet in your life that allows you to detach from monotonous study, as you can burn out quite easily. Vary the subjects you study each day, as you'll lose interest after an hour or so. This is basic stuff but for anyone out there in need of advice, i find this strategy helps me.

 re: The best study techniques

The notion of memorizing parts of a text is similar to that of playing sport, an instrument, performing a show, a gig, etc.

The fundamental key is REPATITION.
You must stick to a continual repatition schedule.

There are those who spend hours on revising but is the information being encoded. (are they studying effectively?)

Here are some effective study methods?
-skim over notes quickly

-reread second time more carefully.

-out of the whole page write down key factors, key words, key topics then proceed to the detail.
eg, your studying about anatomy. The heart lets say. First, jot down the four chambers, focus on memorising them before moving on to the finer details of the vessels and arteries.

-associate lists of words with personal experiences. No one has to know them thus, they can be as silly as you like.

-write your own questions down, then answer them. BUT, do not write them in this format, question1- what brain lobe is responsible for movement
answer- frontal
Instead, write a note to yourself; My FRONTAL lobe is whats allowing me to hold this pen, or my FRONTAL lobe is keeping my heart pumping.

-memorize by drawing diagrams, by using different colors. Different scents and smells for each subject.

-ALWAYS, not once, twice but as many as >3 times, re structure the same question. Or better yet find the same question written in various ways, of course typically with the same answer. This will demonstrate to yourself if you have understood the question to its fullest capacity.

-Ask questions. EVEN if you know the answer but have trouble remembering it.. ask the same question and get an answer. You'd be surprised how the answer pops up in your memory when you recall mr sanders answering, 'connective tissue' whilst twitching, or sneezing, or answering in a specific tone of voice. This is an example of association.

-Interference of information is common. Be sure to separate similar subjects apart. information from one subject can easily interfere with your second subject.
Saying that, once you have revised for one subject take a break before beginning the next.

Last but not least, easier said than done.... be positive.
1-smile even when you feel down. Try it and see the difference. There is scientific reason why we say smiling is good for you. Research and be awed.
2-Believe in yourself.
3-reward yourself yet be tough, very tough on yourself, but not too tough. Do not view being tough on yourself in a negative connotation but positively. Toughness towards yourself are not smacks across your face but doses of steps to success.

Best of luck with all your future studies.
I can do it, he could do it, she could do it, they could do it, so you WILL do it too.

i think the best way to study is to go up to your room and to get my books and go through all the things we have done before starting from the subject I'm good at too the harder ones. That's how I like it! :D And i can be anywhere studying just as long as it's quiet. :D
